Mike Sollecito has been working for Horner Millwork since 2013. Mike began his career as an electrician and home audio/automation installer, but then he changed his career focus to follow his passion for fine woodworking. Since then he has developed an impressive portfolio of custom cabinets and luxury kitchens that he has built and installed over the years. Starting from a young age Mike was involved with renovating homes from the ground up, and now has a wide range of residential building skills including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, roofing, and much more. This wide array of talents makes Mike an invaluable resource during the critical planning stages of kitchen design and execution.
Mike’s most memorable kitchen that he has built and installed to date was for a home in Portsmouth, RI. The kitchen featured a huge solid walnut island with a curved bench seat that faced a 180 degree view of the bay. It was gorgeous!
Mike’s favorite design trend is the rustic industrial design aesthetic. He loves to incorporate reclaimed and repurposed items that were once forgotten and to transform them into something new like lighting fixtures or home décor. Being tech savvy, Mike values the increasing role that technology now plays in the kitchen design process. Supplying clients with a 3D rendering of their kitchen design significantly helps them visualize the finished space. Always trying to improve the building and design process, Mike is currently working on a new measurement process to try to catch all the imperfections on the jobsite that can cause problems with the finished kitchen installation.
