Introducing July’s featured project from the 2024 Horner Wall Calendar: the Library at Bellevue House in Newport, Rhode Island. This project is a beautiful new addition to the historic Bellevue House, an early-twentieth-century estate renowned for its federal-revival architecture. Designed by Couture Design Associates of Providence, RI, and built by Parker Construction of Rumford, RI, the Library perfectly complements the original house and gardens.

The magnificent gardens surrounding Bellevue House are the subject of “The Adventures of a Narrative Gardener,” a book by Ronald Lee Fleming, the author and owner of the property. In this book, Fleming vividly portrays the garden he has cultivated at Bellevue House in Newport, delving into its diverse sources, many of which hold deeply personal memories.
