[New Photography] A Farmhouse Chic Staircase
Taking cues from both midcentury modern and farmhouse design styles, new in our photo gallery is a sleek and unassuming set of stairs that seem both unpretentious and chic at the same time. When Ben LaMora of Lineal Inc. began work on the renovation of this luxury beach house in 2018 the plan was to restore the home’s original staircases. However, by January 2019 it became clear that if the homeowners wanted to enjoy the summer season in their new home, that plan would need to change. That’s when Ben called on our expert team of stair builders to help design and build a new set of Cooper Preassembled Stairs to meet the homeowner’s tight deadline.
Ben provided us his own concept sketches and cad drawings, and then we engineered a set of partially unsupported staircases that we would fabricate in our own shop and install at the jobsite. The partially unsupported staircases and platforms give the home an open and airy feel and help contribute to the light, bright aesthetic of the home.
(Aren’t those pups adorable?)
Powder-coated black 5/8” solid steel balusters by Custom Iron are flanked by simple 2” square steel newel posts in the same finish. The Cooper Stairworks N-3415 profile handrail in White Oak gently guides the ascender or decender from floor to floor. White Oak treads and cove were dictated by the gorgeous herringbone patterned floors on the first floor.
Thank you to Lineal Inc. for choosing Horner Millwork and Cooper Stairworks to be a part of this extraordinary renovation and for allowing us to photograph your beautiful project.
