The December 2024 featured project from our 2024 and 2025 Horner Wall Calendars showcases the incredible transformation of a rustic circa-1888 barn into a luxurious residence. Carefully preserved and thoughtfully rebuilt, this seaside project blends the barn’s original post-and-beam construction with the refined style of coastal-inspired luxury living. This project was a collaboration between Mike Tuffy Contractors, Hammerhead Development, and Rockwood Design, Inc., whose dedication to craftsmanship and vision transformed the barn’s 19th-century structure into a timeless home filled with character and charm.

TRANSFORMING A RUSTIC BARN
INTO A SEASIDE LUXURY HOME
At the heart of this extraordinary renovation is a grand staircase winding up three floors to a breathtaking cupola, revealing panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean. Once a working barn, this expansive space has been reimagined into a home that feels both grand and voluminous, yet warm and intimate. Horner Millwork was proud to provide the wrought iron balusters, red oak handrails and treads, and custom box newels for the staircase. Additionally, our Captiva Mouldings and interior doors, designed to honor the barn’s historic architecture, are seamlessly integrated throughout the home. Dark wood accents paired with bright whites and neutral tones create a striking contrast, paying homage to the barn’s heritage while embracing its modern purpose.
