PART 2: Structurally Superior

Poplar Wood Edge

AC’s superior wood edge was developed to have a continuous bond with the MDF core. This poplar edge provides structural rigidity, making it easy to prep for hardware. There are no air gaps, eliminating any chance of splitting or blowouts.

AC Doors also passed the WDMA Extra Heavy Duty testing for Screw Holding Strength (742 lb screw pull test!) With AC’s strength and durability, It’s no wonder they are a top choice in hotel chains across the country.

PART 3: Green Certified

Premium MDF

Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF) is made from recycled wood fiber making it a “green” material, but not all MDF is equal. AC Doors use premium MDF in all their doors to not only help the environment, but to create a healthier living space.

NAF vs NAUF

To create MDF, a formaldehyde resin is typically added to bind the wood fibers. Some manufacturers use NAUF MDF, where no urea formaldehyde is used. AC Doors uses NAF MDF, no added formaldehyde of any kind, a higher standard to ensure better indoor air quality.

MR30 Rating Standard

You need interior doors to be able to stand up to moisture in bathrooms but why stop there? All AC interior doors are built with MR30 MDF as standard, providing 30% more moisture resistance than regular MDF.

AC Doors is also LEED V4 certified and works with FSC certified suppliers for projects that with sustainable building requirements.

Superior Primer

AC Doors uses a high-end, high-build WDMA primer developed specifically for MDF. Primer is 69% solids and doors have no visible “orange peel” making them easy to sand and apply finish coat. The primer is so good, some homeowners don’t realize it’s not a finish coat when they are installed!

Prefinishing

AC Doors can be factory finished using a high-end, durable waterborne polyurethane. AC prefinishing exceeds KCMA testing requirements – which tests the durability, chemical resistance, moisture resistance, and overall performance in a kitchen environment. Most colors and sheens can be achieved.
