This month, we are proud to showcase our April Featured Project from the Horner 2025 Wall Calendar: a grand coastal estate by Paul R. Doherty Builder. Known for his meticulous attention to detail and mastery of custom millwork, Paul transforms Horner Millwork products into timeless architectural masterpieces. For this extraordinary home, Paul used a range of our products, including stock and custom  mouldings, custom mdf interior doors, a Cooper Preassembled Staircase, and a gorgeous Captiva front entrance unit.

A GRAND ENTRANCE, CRAFTED LOCALLY // The Captiva entrance unit featured this month is more than just a doorway, it’s a work of functional art. Proudly handcrafted in our woodworking shop in Somerset, MA, the sapele entrance unit features a classic 8-lite Craftsman-style door accompanied by four sidelites and a transom. Every Captiva door is meticulously constructed, blending traditional craftsmanship with modern precision to create pieces that are as durable as they are beautiful. These doors go beyond utility; they are heirloom-quality furniture, designed to leave a lasting impression and stand the test of time.

A home’s first impression begins in the foyer, and this one makes a bold statement. This foyer features a Cooper Preassembled Staircase with custom balusters and a custom box newel. By choosing Cooper Preassembled Stairs, Paul allows his team to focus on the intricate millwork details throughout the home. Every detail is intentional—notice how the floor tiles perfectly mirror the coffered ceiling above.

From coffered ceilings to built-up crowns and stacked casings, every inch of the entrance and dining area is layered with exquisite moulding details that define the home’s character.

In a bold departure from traditional white trim, this office features sage green mouldings that add depth, character, and drama.
