Featured Project // Gary Sinise Foundation

Never have we been more proud to be involved in a project. // When our customer Ed Tarca from E.W. Tarca Construction reached out to us to ask if we would be willing to donate our products for a new home the Gary Sinise Foundation was building for a local wounded veteran, we were humbled by the opportunity. Through its R.I.S.E. (Restoring Independence Supporting Empowerment) program, the Gary Sinise Foundation builds one-of-a-kind specially adapted smart homes for our nation’s most severely wounded heroes. These 100% mortgage-free homes ease the daily challenges faced by these heroes and their families who sacrifice alongside them. Learn more about R.I.S.E specially adapted smart homes >

GarySiniseFoundation_99Meet retired US Army Captain Greg Galeazzi // In May 2011, Greg was hit by an improvised explosive device (IED) after leading a foot patrol with his platoon in Afghanistan. Greg lost both of his legs and part of his right arm as his soldiers kept him alive while they waited 30 minutes for the MEDEVAC helicopter to arrive. He underwent dozens of surgeries and endured many additional complications before he was able to live on his own. Today in this new home, Greg is once again able to perform the simple tasks of everyday life that most of us take for granted. Read more about Greg’s story >

Watch this video by the Gary Sinise Foundation to see how this specially adapted smart home will make a difference for Greg and his family:
